Consumer Safety and Quality Strategy

In early 2021 the now disbanded Patient Safety and Quality Advisory Committee embarked on the development of a draft Consumer Safety and Quality Strategy, to unify the strategic approach to Patient Safety and Quality across Queensland Health.

The Consumer Safety and Quality System Strategy map was developed through broad socialisation and feedback with Queensland Health leadership, governance, clinicians, and consumers. In November 2021, the Queensland Health Executive Leadership Team endorsed the final Strategy Map with the proposal to implement and embed the Strategy Map statewide.

Background, contextual information, and glossary of terms have been developed to accompany the strategy map.

Work on implementing the strategies to address the key strategic objective of the Consumer Safety and Quality Strategy is being undertaken by Patient Safety and Quality, Clinical Excellence Queensland in collaboration with the Directors of Clinical Governance Improvement and Implementation Committee
